In Southern Italy, Tucci is slang for “grandfather”, and at Tucci's, you'll find a family-friendly restaurant that diners of every generation will enjoy.
Try one of their signature stone-baked pizzas, or make your own from their list of toppings. They also have numerous pasta dishes, chicken, fish and seafood, steak and chops, and sandwiches. Endless salad and breadsticks can be added to any meal, or ordered on its own.
On Sundays and Mondays, they offer a pasta bar. Diners select their pasta, sauce and meat (chicken or shrimp), and then watch as the chef prepares it. The pasta bar is $13.99 and includes salad, breadsticks and also bone-in chicken vesuvio.
The patio offers Al Fresco dining during warm weather. The bar has several big-screen TVs for watching the game, with seating at both booths or high-top tables. Kids eat free every Tuesday.
Tucci's has a lengthy wine list, but for something traditional and affordable, try a jug of GoomBa Red or GoomBata White table wine. It's served in small water glasses, just as it would be in Italy. The jugs have a screw top, which means if you don't finish it, the bottle can be sealed and you can take it home with you.
Tucci's opened in October 2009 in a remodeled Armenise’s Eighteen 75. It is visible from Illinois Route 50 and accessible from the frontage road that circles Northfield Square Mall or from the west side of the Best Buy parking lot.
